Iam sure that not every one who ownes a Defender, or indeed a s1/2/3 will use a forum like this, but i thought it would be interesting to gather some info on whos got what in the area you live, i have seen many defenders in the past 2/3 months a number of times near me, but dont think they use this forum, would be intreresting to see actualy how many Defenders etc there really is out there.

I know 3 blokes with Defenders who are just not into the forum thing or joining a LR club. Each to there own.
But yes - it does show that there are plenty of Land Rovers cruising around Australia with absolutely no interest or connection to this or any other forum.

Let's face it, most series or Defender owners are probably still learning how to use a digital watch, let alone the interweb. :p

and FWIW there are four Defenders in our little valley of 800 or so people.
Mine, another 130CC Tdi with a BD turbo upgrade based at one of the t/bred studs, and a local concreter has an '01 110 Extreme (hers) and a 110 300Tdi trayback (his) She wants a 90 too :D
I'm the only one on AULRO.

At a guess, I'd estimate that there must be somewhere approaching 100 Landrovers getting around Kalgoorlie / Coolgardie / Kambalda. I'm often surprised at the number I see getting around there.
But I think that there's only about 3 or 4 of us who are members of this forum.

One S1 collector who I know drives a county too but not on this forum.
And a ton of D1's also.

Well
2 series on my street. They have never mooved in at least 6 years. Owner won't sell and is not on here.
There is also a series 2a ute that doesn't go and the owner is not on here.
In Yass there are at least 3 Defenders I know of getting around. a 110 cut down to a ute (Major mods) a red 110 and a blue 110. Every now and then I see a series but never parked so havn't spoken to any of them.

I know of no Defenders in my area, but there are a couple in Dubbo, none of which are on here as far as I know. There are a few Series I know of (mostly S2a), and on Sunday at the monthly auction at Ballimore I ran into the owner of a Series 2a that is local to me. He claims to be a club member - not sure which one, but I don't think he knows what the internet is. I gather he has owned it since new, and has a shed full of bits and pieces, which he has had to send to Sydney as his boss wants the shed back.

I hate digital watches. Give me a nice old fashion windup chronograph any day!
As for Defenders, there's another one in town - Haggis - that is on the forum, the rest of the forum members here are Disco owners. That said there's still a lot in town who don't use it at all.

The magical wave, How rude not to wave back at a fellow Defender, on the subject of whats near bye, theres a S3 SWB hard top in a kind of sand yellow that some one really really old drives, ( hes around 200 years old ) and he gave me a wave, some back water track back of Pacific Pines he was, must only come out once a year.

I lost count when the client list got to 350:o
It would be interesting to actually tally up the amount of 130's, 110's etc I might even do that for interests' sake:)
I remember some time ago we had 25 130cc's on the list:o
