You might have to look at Redbook or similar for pricing.

BTW, 2002/3 Range Rover diesels are in line 6, not V6.

My own preference is for a D3 - but they weren't released till 2005. I don't know much about those cars or what to look for. I have seen some L322s on eBay asking mid 30s, and upward from there. D3s from high 30s.

From everything that I have read and seen the D3s are brilliant. But so are the L322s. So yer pays yer money and yer takes yer choice!

My strong preference is for petrol. Diesel seems to me to be too expensive to buy and to run. Diesel is a more expensive fuel, off-setting the better economy, and require more frequent and expensive servicing. I reckon petrol engine with an LPG conversion is the way to go.

Often not true these days. I am pretty sure the service interval for D3 petrol and diesel is the same.

>> They are getting good value now. $50K would get you a good one with low KMs these days.

>> Absolutely brilliant. Diesel engine is a peach. Quick + economical. I often see "RANGE: 1000+ Km" on the trip computer when I fill it up! I get mine serviced at a local LR specialist (not dealer) and it is no worse than most of my other cars until something 'special' needs attention. It is a RR after all.

3. what to look for
>> Make sure recall work on front diff is done. This is a LR worldwide fix and will be done for free but it should have already been done. Air compressors can go.

4. D3 or RR????
>> I opted for RR as I like the body shape better than the D3, but if you need 7 seats the RR is out. I think the build quality on an L322 is higher than a D3 and the fittings and fixtures look more 'quality' too.

RedBook (and others) are based on re-registration stamp duty charges throughout the country.

Considering I dont know 1 individual that actually tells the truth about how much they paid for ANY vehicle then the values are understated...

I agree. exanple, look up an isuzu county. (or a GTHO)
