I have seen a few cars going around with 322 headlights, but this is the first i have seen to go to the effort of the tail lights too. Alot of work went into that tailgate. He has used leather seats from pre 97 mod too. I must admit, it looks nice.

That tailgate looks like a complete re-skin or replacement from a later model.

What does he mean by "the doors have been shaved"?

A lot of work and money went into that car.

You can see the front corner of the bonnet has the typical overhang as it doesn't match the headlights properly. The front mudguards don't match the doors, either.

That is quite an impressive job. I've seen a few half-assed attempts at updating the P38A to look like a L322 but none as good as this. I think it's front bumper tht makes it look "almost right".

Agreed with Ron about the overhang on the bonnet. Doesn't look right. And there is something about those side vents looking too big for the P38A body.

The back looks great. I don't think I'd pick it as a P38A if I was driving behind.

Is it just me, or is that motor a GEMS rather than a THOR? It's got the rectangular box (like my old '95 4.6) on top rather than all the curved piping on my '99 4.0's THOR engine. Yeah, ok - whatever it's called - plenum chamber perhaps?

Yes, you're right Paul. It can't be a '99 model as advertised. It has a GEMS engine. Note also the transmission dipstick and what appears to be an occupied EMS box behind the battery - neither of those appear after 1998.

Also note the armrests are not leather.

Without a VIN it's hard to tell the actual year model.

could mean, first egoed in 99, as it is atleast a late 97 model by the air cleaner. I think it has L322 mudguards, headlights, tail lights, front and rear bumpers, tailgate skin, grille. The sport side vents ruin it. actuallu, they might be sport front guards as the 322 has the vertical grills there.

he has also got rid of the lower trim moulds off the doors.

Ahh. Good spotting. I'd missed that. Maybe that's the shave door reference.

it does look nice ... very nice but really under the makeup
it is just an old p38 ...I dont think it really is worth what the guy is asking

to me perhaps at best what you would pay for a tidy late model p38

(sorry if I upset anyone here but are we not all entitled to our own views
even if to others they seem wrong)

totally agree.
It is a well known fact, no matter what fancy shmancy stuff you do to your car, you will never get the investment back, perhaps a little above market value but thats it, unless you get a fellow enthusiast who is willing to pay the extra.
Vintage and classic cars are generally excluded though :)
