My wife is..ahm.. vertically challenged; with the drivers seat all the way forward she still has trouble resting her foot on the floor and reaching the accelerator pedal with her toes..
Has anyone found/made a mod for the accelerator pedal on a 2002 D2 (auto)? I only need to lengthen the pedal itself by about 1 inch, have thought about some of those aftermarket pedal covers but not sure if they would be suitable ? any ideas guys ? thanx

platforms?
:Rolling: that is what I was going to say:D
Still jokes aside would be interested to see as I have never heard of anything!
So if she can't use the accelerator properly can she reach the brake and use it safely? I would say that maybe she shouldn't be driving this car if that is the case:).......
I know that the brake pedal is further forward than the accelerator but its whether she can use the full stroke is what matters.
Still the platforms could be a goer you know:D

Something like this: ISOTTA (http://www.isotta.com/eng/prodotti.php?idparent=10&picture=79&over=10&overdown=79)
Turn the disco into a rice burner:D

I wouldn't go altering the acc pedal due to the legal aspects. If she was involved in an accident and they found mods that are not certified it could void your insurance.
If she can't reach the pedals then what about wearing some of those high cork soles sandels that woman used to wear just whilst driving it might give the extra length. Other than that trade her in for a long legged blonde model???:)

My sister-in-law has the same problem; solved by screwing a block of wood onto the pedal suitably covered in non-slip rubber.

I like the ISOTTA type pedal covers although hadn't considered the legality of using these....interesting; that probably rules out the block of wood too.
thanks for your thoughts, to stay legal I might have to enquire with an auto engineer.
As for trading up to a long legged Blonde ? that would void more than my insurance policy..

I can't suggest where, but I've noticed 'Little People" Midgets, Dwarfs, What ever you call these people without giving them offence get out of Large cars, utes etc. They must have some sort of pedal extenders or something. May be a Disabled drivers supply outlet if one exists could advise on a legal solution?

I do not know the answer to the legalities of the ISOTTA's etc but a fellow pilot from my flying days and a set of extenstions made to fit to the rudder pedals of a Cessna 170 so he could reach them with full movement.
I would have thought a car would be the same?
