So........ your gas uses 40L of gas for every 150k's of gas......
Your gas is using gas to get its gas mileage too........
That cant be good.........
Guess that ponders the question, "which came first, the gas or the gases gas mileage...??? :o:D

I get anywhere between 4-5 k's per litre. Depends on the weather and driving.

gidday l have a 85 5speed lt77 stock rangie i just towed another one back from the bush and got 5.65 kilo per liter towing in 4th all the way in the that wind or hurricane we were having. l would not be very happy with 40 for 150 .check what gas you have i run the older style landy which works very well the gas ring hole size is very important approx 42mm for power and up to 50mm for economy :soapbox: l do rave a bit

That would seem a little high for a RR (27l/100km). I am getting 28l/100km in my 101 at highway cruising speeds and the 101 is much bigger, far less aerodynamic and much lower geared.

It seems a little high my stage 1 (body not similar but similar running gear) can go as low as you are mentioning but is usually 23-25 litres per 100km
I did an experiment one day changing from 110 to 100 made no difference and towing didnt make it use any more either.

I'll add my voice to the posters who reckon that 40 litres per 150km is a little high.
I get 350km out of 65-70 litres in a V8 County in mixed city/country conditions, driving it as if it was a go kart.
Perhaps your mixture is too rich? Timing is out? Use good leads and plugs with gas.

I get about 28-30lt/100kms around town on lp gas with my 4speed auto 3.5 '86 RR.
Due to the nature of the beast (mobile road-block), and the sound it makes (magnificent) I treat my throttle pedal more like an on/off switch....

Try new plugs gapped at 25 thou. this may help your fuel consumption. leads need to be in good condition other wise your not getting sharp enough spark.
my 82 had similar problems
