Just rang our daughter in Gapuwiyak and she said the rain was absolutely pelting down... Horizontal rain with really strong winds. I could hear the thunder over the phone (so I hung up in a hurry!)
Our AULRO friends in Nhulunbuy will be next as the storm is heading East.
Some of that would be very welcome here, we've got 36 degrees here today, but really humid.... although we're not as bad as Melbourne or Adelaide.

I think you get more rain in Gove than they get in Gapuwiyak...still Sharon says they have had a few really severe short storms.
It will be interesting to see if the track will be open in May.
Meanwhile, we're having another hot one today with no rain forecast for the next week (according to BOM).

Really depends on when the wet stops. Last year the Top End didn't get any rain after the end of March and I drove in May 9 so you'll just have to wait and see Erich.

I heard Ingham had something like 1.6m of rain for January... I don't think they want anymore or it will cover their gills.
