so i was playing around with the nanocom reading my asb faults. i noticed that in the def abs section under input there is one thats ''engine torque (N/m)''???
at idle i was reading 040N/m...with a slight push on the pedal it went up:eek:
so, is this an accurate reading and where would the ecu get its info from??
cheers phil

What does it read under load in a higher gear?

My understanding of measuring torque is under load, in the highest gear, from memory.

I'm trying this now, in a parked state it read 0 & with some revs 1 or 2. I'll take a spin around the block & report back
AARGH! Bloody thing! I've either got a bad connection somewhere or mine is dodgy. Can't even get it to connect at the moment.

As in froze like a Microsoft product, or just didn't continue to increase in value.... like a microsoft product?

the nanocom torque reading is a calculated figure and while reasonabley accurate wont be "dyno accurate"...

Calculated from what though?
I have a theory but I wont make a fool of myself yet:D.

there is a torque sensor in the D2 auto trans, I assume nanocom does not read that as it does not have the transmission ECU module yet... It is used as the trans safety measure for over powered engines and I'm told that when it measures the set limit the vehicle drops into limp home mode - why you can't power an auto vehicle up as much as a manual TD5.
And you guys are getting a reading in a manual.... so.... Dave - what does it use to calculate?

Been thinking of buying one of these units, is this just one off problem or are there many others?
I think that what I am asking is that are they as good as they are reported to be.
