Hi. I've got a NZ SWB IIa Skippy that I have been working on for a few years now. I am getting to the assembly stage now but as I said it has been a while since I took it apart.
Could anyone tell me what the length of the axle check straps are supposed to be? I bought some a while ago, specifying that they were for a Skippy, but they seem way too short.
The other issue I'm having is mounting the fuel tanks. Firstly, the trusty old Haynes manual shows a shouldered bolt and bush thing, for mounting the rear of the tank. Can you still get these and if so where from? Is it normal to have two right hand tanks fitted? I was missing the left hand tank and so bought a left hand tank but when I came to put the back tray on the holes didn't line up with the filler/breather on the tank.
Lastly, is the oil cooler attached only at the bottom, or is it supposed to be attached to the grill at the top also?
