Ok guys i had a tree (yes a tree) go through my windscreen today on the zook and only thing that stopped it was the roof!
Well now im thinking i will replace it with Perspex i have been told it will work fine and i cant see why not the car is only for the bush! but i am just curious where i should be looking for the stuff and how much it would cost?!
Cheers guys!

Quite seriously, don't use perspex! It breaks sharp. Polycarbonate would be better as it just bends.

For school Design and Tech projects I used a company called Plastix...
PLASTIX - PERSPEX SYDNEY (http://www.plastix.com.au)
(02) 9939 0555
14 Cross Street, Brookvale
fax: (02) 9939 0866
I think they have some other locations in Sydney too

Alternatively, try Glory-ETP in Thornton, I've driven past them a few times, I'm pretty sure they do it too. However, Slunnie raises a good point, it does break very sharp.
The zook has a flat rectangular screen doesn't it? Surely a normal glass one would be pretty cheap?

I agree. Some years back I recommended its use in the windows at one of our sites (on Guam) which was regularly getting shot up by upset locals who confused our submarine cable station - the operative word being "cable"!- with the cable TV station (which often failed). :p

I think that your windshied should be made of safety glass.
Perspex breaks into long shards.
Edit: Just make that x3

Yeah its a flat small windscreen which helps me! the windscreen to fit it is $200 and when you pay $0 for a car that a lot! ;)
Cheers for all the options guys keep them coming if possible greatly appriciated!

Shop around, that sounds dear to me. I get custom made windscreens for trucks for less than that. Plastics would be dearer than glass in my experience.

don't forget plastic scratches when muddy and the wipers go across it a few times...

CAMS require a Lexan windscreen in those tin tops for which a laminated windscreen is not available.

Arn't you driving on private property?
If so then you can leave it out unless you din't like the dust, mud and rain getting in.

Even on a farm vehicle you might have to use the wipers and as soon as you do the perspex will be scratched - after a couple of times you will not be able to see out of it.
A new windscreen must only be about $200 (my freelander is only $230 fitted) so you should be able to get one from a wrecker pretty cheap - probably cheaper than buying perspex or flat laminated glass cut to shape.

Used to have a business plastic welding and making things out of perspex etc. As mentioned above you won't want to use perspex for a wind screen lexen or polycarbonate(same thing) would be better however it scratches easy and is very expensive.
