View Full Version : RR Sport (with snorkel) in Queanbeyan

While driving around Queanbeyan this afternoon, noticed a RR Sport with a snorkel and a Land Rover Club of ACT sticker.

Didn't bother waving as I was driving the Zook (Sierra ragtop) and I figured he'd think I was some kind of wierdo. If I had of been driving the Rangie, I would have waved and suspect he would have returned it. After all, someone who belongs to a LR club and has gone to the trouble of getting a snorkel for their Sport is likely to recognise another Rangie driver.

Whoever you are, congrats on a great looking rig. The style of that snorkel is very Star Wars'ish :D I like it.

Cheers, Paul.

Wow, that was quick. Yes I believe it is. The Rhino rack at the back for the UHF is quite distinctive.

My son's first observation after the snorkel was "where's the CB radio aerial?" which is how I noticed the rack and the fitting.

I was pulled up next to you at the lights on Monaro St. Tried not to make a scene although my son was craning his neck to check your truck out.

So do you go on many trips with LRC-ACT? I've been thinking about checking them out again now that I've done some 4WD training and am more comfortable with taking my Rangie off-road.

Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul

No it's not mine it belongs to a friend.
The vehicle is extensively modified and he is a good bloke, very approachable and proud of his handiwork.
You can get a small idea from his posts here:

He's on the committee of the Canberra club and is always looking for new members.
This is mine: (first in the row !) NSW Rego "RRS"

I spend a fair bit of time in the ACT region so if you see me, flag me down for a chat. I could also be driving this:

you pay too much............:D

RRS have a landrover factory snorkel option. They should have used the p38s in the last of the camel trophies, then we would have some factory designed gear to play with aswell (they might have even moved the becm aswell..........paul:wasntme:)

if I had a spare P38A I would happily donate it to a TAFE or similar tech college as a project to relocate the BeCM and other "way too low" ECU's to a pod in the roof or other location that allowed sufficent cooling and access, while keeping it above a reasonable waterline, i.e. top of wheel arches.

I'd love to attempt it myself but I don't have the time, patience, electrical know-how, and a spare P38A.

Now who's got a spare P38A for such a noble cause?..... Andy? ;)

Cheers, Paul.
