Here's a use for BluTac with computers...

Get a small bead and place it in the eye of a co-workers optical mouse

Better yet use that clear tape that is almost invisible, just put a finger print on the bit over the optic sensor. Almost invisible but usually reflect the light and stops the mouse working.

In the old days it was even better because an equivalent sized ball of BluTac could be substituted for the mouse ball as it weighed about the same, had the same colour (grey) but certainly didn't work half as well

OK evil thoughts for tonight are over with:twisted:

My favorite IT type tricks:

1. Take a screen shot, (printscreen) of victims desktop. Save it as a .jpeg
Right click the desktop, un-tick Show desktop icons under arrange icons by.
Replace the existing wallpaper image with your screen shot of the desktop.
Hide the start/taskbar
The result is a computer screen that looks identical but anything they click on wont work.

2. Quicker n easy, just switch the mouse buttons.

3. Set “number of copies” in print options to 200, set it to default.

How about this one, for those computer people who hate beeps:
1. Purchase an annoyatron
2. Open PC Case
3. Turn item purchased in step 1 to on, with random interval, and a particularly annoying beep.

Sit back and wait for the victim to start pulling their hair out. Even after unplugging the PC the noise is still emitted.

Another option:
1. Remote power kit from Jaycar
2. Wire into computer power supply
3. Wait until user is sufficiently comfortable, then switch off the power to their PC....

Wait an appropriate amount of time, ie. when they have just given up, then switch it back on....

Hours of fun with that one.

CONTROL+ALT+up arrow on laptops is a good one for neck strain too.

I worked in a call centre breifly many years ago, and we decided to play a trick on one particularly dumb (blonde) colleague. (yes, she was hot though...)

We did the old Ctrl+Alt+down trick as above to rotate the layout of the screen so it was upside down.

We then turned the physical monitor upside down so that the screen orientation was the right way up.

She came back to her desk and saw her monitor upside down told us all we were "silly boys" and picked it up and righted it. Looked confused for a minute as the view was now upside down, and then picked it up and upended it again, then again and again and again until she started to get frustrated and tired and ended up dropping it...

HILARIOUS! :D :lol2:
