View Full Version : Please could someone help me - Trolley Jack needed - The Gap - Brisbane

Good Morning All,

I am wondering if someone can help me.

I have been here approximately 3 months from the UK and am currently living in The Gap, Brisbane.

I have just ruined the clutch on my S1 discovery and am in the process of removing the gearbox, but due to my limited time in Aus i do not have all my tools etc and with money being really tight and having no spare cash especially with the clutch going too.

I need to borrow a trolley jack to help remove the clutch and refit etc. I am currently awaiting for a clutch to arrive and am begging someone to find it in there heart to lend me a jack to get my car running again as my wife and boys are having to walk to school etc as we are only a one car family.

Please help, i could pay a small fee for the lending of the required item if required.

I carnt help you with a jack but thought I'd reply anyway (I'm in sydney)

i'me supprised that none of the bisbanites have not offered to give you a

hand though...

should have come to sydney insted of Q'land .....

soo sydneites would have had a trolley jack over to nick within 3hrs:angel:

i don't have a trolley jack, if you had of posted yesterday i reckon i could have helped out

there are one or two members in your area that might be able to help out....might just have to wait till they log on this afternoon

just thinking, can you chane the thread title to include The Gap....might attract the brisbane guys

Thank you very much for your responces regarding my little problem. I think i have found someone to lend me a jack (thank you grizzly adams) although, if someone likes changing clutches on servies 1 discoverys (for some unknown reason) and has nothing better to do, then there will be a few cold ones for some help. :D

Just a quick responce to thank Johan for the use of his jack and stands.

I have been out there this morning and removed the gearbox and am awaiting delivery of the clutch which should be monday.

Hi I see you have managed to get a jack allready. I'm in Enoggera and have a fairly good range of tools, compressor, trolley jack etc. I'm pretty much confined to the house at the moment, caring for a sick mum but you are welcome to call in any time if you need to borrow tools or just a chat and a beer. Been here a bit longer than you.... came over in 64. :D
