View Full Version : Which Sump you ask!!!!!

hey all,

just doing the service on my D1 Deisel and i was wondering, silly as it may seem which sump is which????

the small one near the middle of the car i take it is auto trans???
the big ass one near the front is engine oil???

think the heat is getting to me already lol.

You certainly picked a great day to be doing your first service on it!!

Hope it all goes well and reasonably quickly so you can get out of the heat!

Thanks matey, all went very well actually!!!!:thumbsup: first car i did a service on and everything went smoothly, GOTTA LOVE UR LANDY!!!!!!!!:arms:

all there is left now is grease up the nipples on the uni's and have a look at the coolant situation. a bit worried about that dont know where to start and my rave cd is on its way.

would anyone know the exact procedure to change the coolant from green to red????

waiting for my rave cd to come in the mail but need to change it later on and dont know where to start. is there a drain plug some where on the d1?????

Sorry gotta ask should you be servicing your car when you dont know which sump is for the engine :eek:
Dont get me wrong its good your asking , but should you be undertaking such a task with out someone with knowledge and not to be relying on the web incase something goes pear shaped;)
I wish you luck and yes the sump towards the front of the car is for the engine it is attached to the engine ?:cool:

i had a fair idea on which one it was, i just thought i'd do myself the favour and get a second opinion as this is my first deisel truck.

Gotta learn somehow. It'll be ok, theres nothing thats rocket science in there. I would also say that there are a hell of a lot of us that learnt how to do things by just having a go.

Yes so true but you only get one shot at this sort of thing , One stuff up and that cheap disco would only be woth scrap value , lets face are ,nt most disco,s only worth scrap value:wasntme::p;)

honestly here my last fourby was a p38 and whith all the bells and whistles attached i would rather depend on my Disco 300tdi than a V8 air sprung susp, too many electrics and just a pain in the ass motor out in the bush!!!!

but thats my opinion :tease:
