If I were to guess it looks like a later Rover diff possibly 3.54 ratio. In any case not an early Rover 4.88, 4.7, 4.3 or 3.9 diff
What sort of 2/2a is it fitted to?

I have not long bought it. It's a 1965 IIa 109 Station wagon, with the 2.25 Rover petrol engine and a fairey overdrive.

Yup, I'm guessing by the side fill plug, early RRC 3.54:1.

I agree with Diana, it is a later Rover diff, could be either 4.7 or 3.54. It looks the same as either the front one in a 1981 S3 I have and in the front of the 110.

G'day Big Unit :)

Seeing that it is white painted on the rear I would say that it is a Rover diff of 4.7:1 ratio, the standard fittment to Series Landrovers :) that one possibly being from a Series 3 as it has the flat casting on the base of the nose where a skid plate could be mounted.

                                                                                     cheers
