Ok after booking some holiday at work and been looking on serveral web sites and some say that Although Anzac day is on Saturday this year there is no public holiday during the week . But others say that Monday 27th is the Anzac Day public Holiday

Does anyone know what the real case is .

Cheers

My understanding of public holidays is that ANZAC day falls on the 25th April and that is the only day given as the public holiday and Australia day is the same.

Most other public holidays float and always land on a Monday or Friday eg Easter.

Christmas is the only one that floats the a date is fixed but the day floats and depending on the day an additional day off is given.:)

No Monday Public Holiday in NSW either NSW Office of Industrial Relations, Public Holidays (http://www.industrialrelations.nsw.gov.au/holidays/default.html) and that is supported by the RSL http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,24918602-5006009,00.html.

I guess it has something to do with the ANZAC's not waiting around for a Monday to invade Turkey, just so the kids could have a public holiday.
