Well I have done it?. Never would of thought I would see the day but today my baby is gone. I have had her for 6 years, and now i feel wierd, kind of naked:( She went every where. You name it, She got me there and back. I have tried to justify not selling it but my wife says I have too many toys. and the house needs to be finished. I have found myself going through the list of work I have done to it, is very depressing!. I might add it has been the most reliable car I have ever owned, the only work I had to do to it other than regular by the book and even over the top preventative maintinance and mods and goodies I had done for piece of mind for touring. The buyer got a lot of car for the money and I can only hope they will look after her.
At least I still have my SER3 LR other wise i would feel like i diddn't belong.
Sorry but I have never felt this passionate about a car before. It normal.?
Will.

Nice post Will, sorry to hear she's gone. Since the repairs & respray on mine after being ran into I've been in two minds whether to sell or keep. It's a tough one, the financial crisis at the same time adds weight to reducing debt. I know I'd be lost without mine also.

I felt the same when I sold my Rangie, but it was compensated by the purchase of my D1.
As you say, you have the S3 and in time you can get another LR :D

Sad news that you have had to give up your pride and joy.
Interesting comments about it being the most relaible ride you have ever owned! Did you use it as a daily driver only or did it get to do real off road work?
Cheers,

Awwwwwwwwwwww thanks guys. I know Many have felt the same.
I used it for both daily driver mums / dads taxi and Long trips eg cape york, WA and desert and countless weekends and tough trips.
It got a pretty good work out but never let/broke down exept for a blown air bag in the rear early on. Either I got a good one or did what I was suposed to do at the time it needed, or I just wanted it done for piece of mind and track bragging rights. :D.
It was a 99 ser2 disco V8. I will try and post a pic when I can figure out how to do it.
Here is a list of mods it got.
1:3 sets of tyres/michelins/coppers/bf goodrich
2: Bilstien shocks then swaped to Konies, kept bilstien stering damper.
3: 2 sets of coils HD 3 inch lift, MD 2 inch coils.
4: Winch bullbar and winch.
5:IPF Driving lights.
6: GME CB.
7: polaris audio,gps,rear camera system.
8: CDL KIT
9: Cargo barrier.
10: Full lenth roof cage rack
11: Snorkel.
12: Lots of love, then scratches, then lots of love.
13: Dual batt system.
13: Platnem spark plugs, new front prop shaft, double carden joint thingy, rotors, serpentine belt , all ruber hoses, exaust and cats and all bushes.
Got it with around 70 000 on it sold it with 230 000, probably more, I as ran larger tyres. not bad for 6 years hard service. But dont ask how much I paid for it and how much I sold it for please.
And a few minor things but nothing major, hence being the most reliable car I have owned, I mean I have 4 work cars and the 03 falcon has had big dollars spent on major components but coverd in warrenty luckley, and it is serviced by the book too.
Cheers
Will.

I didn't experience it until I realised that all the people who "claim" the latest update D1s are the best were actually wrong. Don't be fooled by that line. The world is not two dimensional.

I've already got a Kombi. And an RRC. And a P38. I've got to sell one so its the RRC that has to go. 92 model Vogue SE. $3900 or will swap for a halfway decent camper trailer.
