Anyone have a Friday 13th disaster?
I had a driver hook-up to a trailer without applying the parking brake. Our new (sub 14,000km) prime mover rolls away driverless! Luckily three brand new prime movers( not even predelivered) stopped the runnaway from going more than 200m.
Not happy Jan.

Most of us have heard of milliseconds and nanoseconds.
Apparently an ohnosecond is the time that elapses between clicking the send button and realising that you have sent carbon copies to people who should not have received the email.

Christchurch to Ipswich looks to be about 2500km on Google maps, so if I left now I would only have to average about 80kph to get there for Monday morning. That's assuming I'd need a couple of hours to fit a slight longer snorkel on the 110 to wade across the Tasman.
Cheers, Iain
P.S. If your V8Ian I must be TdiIain :)

last job i had, TA'ing for a sparky, was roughing in then fitting off 8 duplexes....... i warned the plasterers when they started the first one that if i couldnt find the wires, i'd happily turn the place into swiss cheese...... they got it right by the 4th unit, halfway through the third unit they had to go back and patch the holes i created chasing cables...... the other 13 units all had EVERY wire through the wall in exactly the right spot!

I scored a day at the cricket in a private suite with some mates and Michael Bevan to chat to.......
...........it rained and the match was aborted 11 overs into New Zealand's innings so no result!
Talk about rotten luck :p

the machines i work on have 8 wheels. Company policy is only 1 wheel off per side at a time. i take over on arvo shift 2 wheels off same side same end, workshop a pigsty. I'll clean the mess before i start says i. the two mechanics before me don't seem to mind working in filth. A brake chamber sitting on the floor unsupported with the lifting attachment screwed into the hydraulic port falls over while i was cleaning up. The lifting attachment destroyed the thread so the brake chamber cannot be fitted until the thread is repaired. guess which tap was the only size that isn't in the workshop. Murphy or friday 13th. Questions will be asked on monday why this machine didn't go back to work friday night. I'm not the one who stripped two wheels off it but i'll have to explain it. maybe i can get a tap sat morning on the way to work, fix it and none will know. lets hope.
Someone else's shoddy work my bad luck oh well

All OK for me. Some of my plans for putting site ERT on care and maintenance have been accepted so looking like a bit of good.
But had to attend an MVA about 20kms from site, driver ok a bit battered but the little mitsubishi colt is a write off. Airborn for 10metres, nose first then side rolled in the air for another 6 metres then rolled again and came to rest on the drivers side.

Not hugely bad luck, but...
Woke up and looked at myself in the mirror and decided my hair looked like a bowling ball.
Decided to cut it myself as the missus had gone to work already.
Went to meetings all day.
Got home. Missus falls on floor laughing. I have a huge Tin-Tin like lick of hair that I missed and is plainly obvious to a blind man.
Can't imagine how I missed it but I was in a bit of a hurry. No-one from all the meetings I went to said a word . What an idiot I am.

I did exactly that a couple of ohnoseconds after I sent it.
Interestingly enough RECALL doesn't work exactly as you'd think it would. All it does is send a request for the message to be recalled. Once it's arrived in their inbox, they can still choose to open it. The good thing about RECALL is that at least you can see who "respected" the request and who choose to open it anyway.

If I received an email and then a recall the chances of me seeing the recall BEFORE I opened the original are about zero. So don't judge too harshly.
Friday was quite a good day for me actually except I decided to buy a couple of cartons of beer to shout my new team drinks and found the Bottle Shop near us had shut down. Not too hard to find an open one around the Gabba though.

What sort of trucks do you have?
Couldn't the driver jump in it before it travelled 200m?

Couldn't he have disconnected the supply line, bring it to a screeching halt in less thas a metre? Yes. Did he? No, he jumped from behind the cab on the left side, ran around the front, :o tried and failed to open the driver's door  ran back around the front :o:confused: and turned off the air lines.:confused: Too late, the system's already charged.:bangin: He may as well have stood in front and asked it politely to halt it's progress

Do you have some fancy locks on your doors so they can't be opened.?.:D:D:D
Sounds like he did a lot of runing around with little affect.
Hope it didn't do too much damage.
