my aircon clutch is squeaking when first start up but settles its self after a while. is there a way of adjusting this or would it be a voltage issue of the clutch solnoid i havent put a multymeter on the clutch yet to mesure voltage on start. oh and ive got a D1 300 tdi

jump a 12v supply straight to it and see if it makes the noise, if it dosnt then it may be a voltage issue. or it could just be worn out and not have enough metal left for the correct clamping pressure.
has it been re gassed/oiled latley?
the compressor isnt seizing is it??

cheers phil

On 1st starting shouldn't be the head pressure- try some belt lube, Assume tension's ok?

Do you mean, when you fist start the car or turn the aircon on?

Either way, especially if its when you first start the car, it may be the bearing in the aircon pulley.

I had mine in a D1 squeak on start up and then quieten once warmed up. Replaced the bearing and the startup noise was gone.

sorry i should of been more clear its when you turn aircon on and it squeals for a while then it must clamp on and squeal goes away. put a multi meter on it and the voltage level is fine. it also goes away quicker if you rev the engine a bit when the aircon is on. it makes it squek louder at first but then goes away.

that just sounds like a loose belt.
