Q1. ok so have new 4.3 stroker (megasquirt computer) in my 90, running a recently rebuilt 3 core full width radiator (from my isuzu).
i'm getting overheating issues when there is not enough airflow. running twin 12" spal thermos behind radiator. on freeway/round town/on low tide beach work, etc temp is ok - around 90deg. when towing in slow stuff, climbing hills low range, etc temp jump almost instaneously to overheating.
the 12" themos pretty much take up all the width of the radiator (i know some people run AU falcon thermos?) so haven't got much room for bigger thermos, running a 160 f thermostat.
whos running a similar motor set up and whats your cooling configuration?
i know of a fella off aulro running a chev diesel with a second radiator under the car, but i'm sure there has to be better alternatives.
Q2. haven't got a temp gauge on my auto yet but from the hest penetrating the tunnel/floor i'm sure she is cooking.
at the moment i've just got the standard toilet cleaner cylinder type cooler - pretty much useless yes. apart from you hally, whos running after market coolers in their fenders? i haven't heaps of room as my winch is slightly recessed into my grille.

I run an overbored 3.5 in extremes of temperature all the time and this is what I have done.
I had Keith Maskell a semi retired guy in Alice Springs recore me a radiator I think it has 5 rows of tubes and subbed headers ( like a Kenworth ).
Keith has built radiators since the 1970s and has even advised the Rover factory what to do. This guy knows what he is doing
I regularly run in temperatures close to 50 degrees C and dont have any issues I currently run a 74 degree thermostat.
I dont know the actual temperature of the coolant is ( only half way up the gauge) but I havent seen the head temperature get above 86 degrees C regardless of how hot it gets or how I use it.
Redline water wetter is another product I run this I think has helped.
I dont run thermo fans just a TD 200 plastic fan.
Hope this helps

I have got a 3.5 v8 county and got a new rad from a ebay rover guy his name is Gary he is in Sydney, CLR 4WD PARTS, 0412663751. I think my fan is 16" and only have one, I had to cut the rad surround abit but it works fine and I'm in Darwin. I would have thought that a isuzu rad woud be heaps, might have to go custom aluminium.

I run a rear mounted disco 1 5 core desert spec, with cowl and a pair Disco 2 thermo fans (disco 2s only have one). It seems to keep cool. Unfortunately a disco radiator wont fit between the guards of a 110.

Put the factory fan back on... Moves a LOT more air than thermoFans do.

Defender with 4.6Efi, stainless headers, standard V8 radiator cowling, standard viscous fan and a custom built Aluminium 4 core rad.
I couldn't get the temperature above 90 even if I wanted to.
I tried using twin 12" electric fans but they create too much dead space so went back to the standard viscous fan & rad shroud which works perfectly.

I'm running a 6.5 chev diesel in my 01 defender.
Long looooong story re overheating, now sorted after 4 years of trial and error, tears and joy(mostly tears...., but now joy).
Started with a custom copper radiator, no joy.
Went to a custom aluminium radiator, still overheating.
At that point in went a second radiator mounted to the chassis rail, sits round about where drivers side seat is, switchable in as needed.
Still overheated, even with the 2 radiators.
Then went to a 6 core custom copper radiator, big cowl, dimensions 750w 400h 90thick.(As big as will fit between fenders, bonnet, and chassis/bulkhead in the 110.)
Works perfectly, I'm not sure the second radiator is even needed anymore, still testing....
Along the way tried thermo fans, various viscous hubs, 5/6 different fans, bigger oil cooler, moved the aircon rad to underneath the body(chassis rail on passenger side), high flow booster pump and other stuff I can't remember.
All the mods were done with the aluminium rad in place.
I'm not sure what would have happened if the current rad went in first, maybe none of the mods would have been needed??
I just know it never overheats now, no matter what conditions I'm in or how hard she works....so for me, the answer seemed to be in the radiator not the bits and pieced that support it
Not sure if that's of any help....:D
