My firewall is rusted in my Defender, does anybody know if it is possible to buy a new one. I am presently pulling the old firewall out to repair it however I feel it would be easier to replace it with a new one. Please advise if you know or have any advice. Thanks Ben.

Try a main dealer. In the back of my mind I am sure they aren't as expensive as you may think. They are definetley available, and used to pop up on ebay.co.uk quite often (called bulkheads rather than firewalls tho)

My TD5 started life as a beach vehicle with the Caloundra City Council. It was supplied new with a galvanised chassis however the bulkhead needs replacing due to rust. Thanks. Ben

A new one would be available through LR but I'd hate to think what it's worth.

So how do you order a defender with a galv chassis?

Also any chance of photos of the bad bits on the bulkhead - would be useful to others to see where these things are going to rust in 10 years time.

The Vehicle started life as a Caloundra City Council car, it was used to launch Surf boats. It has a Gal chassis so my guess is that it was either special order (not sure it this was an option) or it was stripped and Galvanised when the council purchased it.

I have some photos and i willl upload them tomorrow arvo.
Areas of Rust are:

1. The top the foot well (both sides) directly under bonnet hinges
2. Around the holes for the wiring harness.
3. In the Pillars under door rubbers.

Hope this helps.
