Pirelli tyres - can someone please explain

OK, so my Michelin 4X4 XPC tyres, which I kind of do like, and seem to do OK offroad, are scalloped and is causing me great stress as it pulls to the left blah blah blah.....Once I find one thing wrong with my cars then I start picking on other things.

I have been a fan of Michelin tyres for some time now but some very knowledgable people, yes you Slunnie, are gently guiding me towards the Pirelli.

When I look on their site, see the link below, I can see that the ATR appear to be their best offroad tyre before going silly, however, they look about half as agressive as their AT.

How can this be?

I ran a set of scorpian AT's for 4 years and they are my pick out of all AT tyres.I've had toyo,BFG,Cooper,michelin etc.The XPC was a fantastic tyre but mine wouldn't wear out and I got worried after 10 years so replaced them with lattitude which are a straight highway tyre,a very good one at that.Buy the scorpian AT's and you won't be dis-appionted.

was very happy with the Scorpion AT's, that when the first set were worn out (110,000Km) I put some more on.

Only covered 12,000Km on the new ones so far.

I prefer the pattern on the AT over the ATR.

I have the Pirelli Scorpion ATR LT 245/70/16

Dont be fooled by the website pictures,.

The tread is as agressive as any other AT tyre on the market. Handling on road is fantastic and quiet.
Off road they are easily out perform the equivalent of BFGs, Bridgestone All Terrain. (I have used both)

Of course every ones needs are a little different, but if you are sure an AT tyre is what you need, I doubt you would be dissapointed with the Pirelli.

Me too. No complaints so far, after about 5 or 6 thousand km.

I just moved from BFG's to The Continental CrossContact AT. The biggest difference I noticed is going from LT rated to non LT. On sand, there is a major difference in not needing to drop pressures anywhere near as much, but they do feel a bit nushier on road.
However, I did go from 235/70 to 245/70 so sidewall is a little bit taller, but quiet...OMG HOW MUCH QUIETER are they than BFG's!!!!
Just waiting for the first good dose of rain to hit so I can give em a blast up the freeway and thru some runoff water to see how they hold.

Pattern looks good too and not chunky and blocky on the sidewall either.
