Hi all,
The horns on my TD5 2002, recently stopped working and in the manual it only shows one fuse which is located under the hood. It was blown so I replaced it but still the horns don't work.
Thought it might be the horns themselves but I triggered the alarm the other day and the horns both functioned.
Someone told me that there is a second fuse for the horns under the dash but the manual does not refer to one there.
Does anyone know whether there is indeed a 2nd horn fuse?
Cheers,
Pete'

According to RAVE (well worth the investment...:D) there is only the 1 fuse.
Might be time to pull out the multimeter... Check that you have 12v going to each of the horns, and if not, then start working back from there.
From memory, the alarm horn is a separate unit to the normal horn, which is why it is still working.
Other easy thing to check is the relay in the fuse box under the bonnet. You should hear a click when the horn button is pressed. If not, then there is either no power getting to the relay, or the relay itself is stuffed.

Hi Guys,
Mine is the Disco' model and I've swapped the relay to no effect.
And yeah, I should get myself one of those RAVE disks.

there is a seperate horn for the alarm, so even if the horn goes off on alarm doesnt mean the horns for traffic are working. as above, trigger it direct from power to test. i had probs with mine when and when i was fitting air horns worked out dirty connections were stoping one of my horns working.

Just so you know all the horns (3 of them) work off the alarm but only the ones in the grill work off the horn button on the steering wheel, if you remove the horn for the alarm (the one on the firewall) the other 2 still work off the alarm.
The horns in the grill are a bugger to get at, you'll need to take the grill off.
So to test them set the alarm off that should tell you what may be amiss and whether it is the horns/fuse or something else.
