Sounds a bit sus doesn't it - but I'm just wondering whats the best option to fix worn splines in a D2 front tailshaft. It was siezed but the heat needed to free it has damaged the plastic coating on the splines. Can these be repaired? Can you buy the splined section and weld it in? If not what's the best option for a recon shaft in Perth WA.
Cheers,
Dave

you can buy the spline yoke section from hardie spicer as its a 1300 series joint, BUT i dont think they have the plastic film on them.
so it would be a complete assy from hardie or a new/second hand shaft.

I've just replaced the front shaft on mine with an exchange recon unit from rovertech (done by DSA). a third of the price of original newy. DSA also rebuild them with bored out bearing holders for bigger bearings.
