All

I have a V8 110 with twin stromies, however recently the left carb has been sucking air through the plastic cap on the top. I have tightened it up a couple of times and then it will start leaking again after a week. Has this happened to anyone else?, i guess i need to get a new plastic cap.

Thanks in advance

Don't think it is as simple as replacing the cap.. inside that cap is where you fill it with oil..
(alt least on mine you do )
you may have a slihtly bigger problem than a leakin cap:eek:

Found problem, the cap had been over tightened and actually snapped off, hence only seated on one thread, loosing over time. Got second hand cap and replaced, run perfect now :)

It is very likely that you also have a split plastic diaphragm in that carb. Air should not suck in at the oil filler cap, even with it off!

I will have a look tomorrow, however i have vacuum lifters for the LPG system so may be caused by this.
