Hey folks! I got a new dog - His name is Rip and he's a great dane/bull mastiff cross. :D
He was a day away from being put down as his owner couldn't find anyone to take him before he moved back to a unit in Sydney.
For a big dog that has taken down wild boars, he's a soft touch - he's living in fear of my 6mth old cat! Very gentle giant... but should stop people jumping the back fence at night...
enough words - here he is!

The old hardtop makes a good makeshift kennel...

Well done.
We have just found a home for another dog that was impounded and its termination day was looming.
Much to the dog catchers disgust we do things OUR way.Let the prisoners out to socialize with the boys whilst having a beer.We put the word out and give the dog away free with a bring it back if its no good warrantty. They get to stay way beyond their alotted 72hrs,this one was coming up for 2 weeks.
If it was up to the boys at work we would have a pack of mascotts by now:eek::eek::eek::eek:

actually there is a beautiful boy boxer at work 4.5 years old ;)
but not these two they are a pair of old boys.......
they have been at work months!!!! they are the nicest dogs and since they have been there only 1 person has looked at one of them :(, they really want them to go together
they are not the best looking dogs in the world, they are old 9.5 but from what I'm told just the nicest dogs you could ever meet......they just looking for someone that will let them end there days happy for a couple of years

well done, just because he is an ex pig chaser ( I can;t wait now for all the smartarse comments about the police) means nothing!
Obviously has a good temperament and can cope quite well in a pack situation( the cat is higher up the rung)
Most people are scared of big dogs, he will make a good backyard deterrent.
