Has anybody been able to help him out? I was driving past there earlier tonight as we just got into Melbourne about 9.30. I saw him there but I was on 110 in the right hand lane and was past before I could even think about it.
Hope he is ok. I suppose I will find out in the morning when we get out to Labertouche.

Damn. I wish I had been able to stop as I have a very large shifter that I always carry as it fits the bearing nuts on the trailer. I didn't really even think that he might have been in trouble until I read the post.

No not scared just running late for the meeting point.
Thanks for the assistance and the place to sleep. The catch up was great.
I made it home.
Diff is cactus, Truck is covered in oil, grease dirt and ash.
Now to pull it down next weekend and see what can be salvaged.
I also lost one of the axle flanges on the side of the road:angel:.
Found the cause of the stuck cap. It had been filled with a mixture of locktite and sealant. I even had to chissel it away to get to the cir clip.
Had a dummy cap made up while down there to keep fluids in and stopped every 50km on the way home to check for heat, play and keep the fluids up as the passenger side was still leaking. Only took 2 litres mixed with that grease Dave gave me to git it home:eek:.

Hi Edd,
Glad you got home. Hope there is not too much damage.
Tim.
Quite confident the innards will not be salvageable. Just hoping the axels and housing are still ok.
Thansk for the weekend.
