Went to Westrac to-day for a battery to fit the Disco. The Cat part they quoted 1535656 had dimensions that seemed on the large size ie 278x174x229 I had written the measurements of the present battery down[230x160x180] but did not have the vehicle with me at the time so was unable to compare.Would the Cat battery have fitted?
After much deliberation,in the end, I went up the road to Supercharge, there was no Brad there, but they still gave an Aulro discount on an MF80D26R rated at 670cca for $150.
Good to deal with.

A lot of people use cat batteries in their vehicles. Some have quite good reports on them, others tell how they get them cheap from work. I think they're supposed to be pretty heavy duty, high cca et etc. All the things they would need to have when supplying power to earthworks machinery.

Out of curiosity where's the supercharge shop that's always referred too, or the thread discussing it. I've heard good things about these batteries too.

From the supercharge website, they are at 39 Raymond Avenue, Bayswater

WesTrac is 128 Great Eastern Highway, South Guildford

They're a couple of km's apart if you look them up on a map.

I got the same supercharge battery in my disco and its the largest you can fit without moving the A/C hoses - mine was only $120 though ;).

funny,, I did the same, but to the local Hastings dealer,, wanted such and such size,, too big by 5mm! went down the road and bought a Supercharge MF91D31R 760cca for around $200,, no AULRO discount :(

Our Suby's battery died the next week,, guess what brand it got?;)
