D2 V8 Tappet cover screw heads - what are they?

Looking at replacing tappet cover gaskets and discovered the torx style screw heads. None of my metric sockets fit. Is there a special tool?

They're just 12 point bolts instead of the regular 6 point. You need an 8mm 12 point socket.

let us know if the gaskets were broken,,
maybe the bolts just needed a nip up?
