G,day all , i moved the D2 this morning and when i went to lock it the headlights came on and it wouldnt lock .It only lasted for about a 30 sec as i kept pressing the lock button and it locked and the lights went of.Also the a/c fan last night and just 5 mins ago is staying on after the car is switched of , it has never done this before either. Any input would help apease SWMBO:confused:. Tony

I'm not sure about why the central locking didn't lock, but the lights come on for 30secs if you hold the lock button down. This gives you lighting to get into your house. If a door isn't closed or closed properly the alarm wont activate either which is indicated by the flashing blinke (or lack of). The AC fan will stay on after turning the engine off if the engine has been really hot.

Hi guys , yeah slunnie i just kept pushing the button not holding it down and it did nothing and pedro the doors were all closed as well as she didnt sound the alarm .I will check the coolant levels this arvo.Could the battery in the key fob do funny things if it was on its way out?

I've only found that the range on the key reduces as the battery flattens - thats about it though. If you put the steel key part on your chin and press the button the range is significantly increased again.

Now that is genuinely fascinating Slunnie, how did you find that out?

I read about it years and years ago. I thought that was a really eccentric thing to do, but actually it works really well and I habitually do it these days. :(
