Why are people not voting?

people have been visiting the section all night but not voting...amd I think the thread has something like 27 views:o

I had a look but because the photos were not included or linked to the same topic I didn't vote. I meant to go and look for the pics, but then got distracted and forgot.

They are all nice and hard to vote on their merits if a full exif is not available. :)

that really has nothing to do with it........IMHO

your voting on whether the pic has followed the rules and executed the topic, whether it was composed well and whether the shot is of good quality and importantly whether you like it!
......people may take pics with a compact camera etc....or be using cameras old enough that it doesn't supply it:)

Thats why I dont think its that important what there settings where.

I had just noticed that people who usually vote had been posting in the section and not voting......


it was more of whats wrong....can you see it? is the post not work? etc etc;)

especially as it had had 27 views..........

I also wonder whether many people dont realise they can vote just because they may not contribute to the section.....which is silly I want everyone involved

IMHO you would get a lot more members voting if the pics they were voting on were easier to locate instead of firstly having to locate the other thread and then pan through all the pages to find each pic.
Could they either be collated into the voting thread or placed in an album in the gallery with a link to same?
Just a suggestion which hopefully may help.

So why is the link no good in the voting thread?

I dont see how clicking on a link and looking at pics that all line up one under another is any different to clicking on a link going inot the gallery and having to click on each indiviual picture to look at it. In fact the later seems to be more time consuming ;)

I have said this before the reason I dont do this through the gallery is many members already host their pictures else where.....I for one would not bother to upload to the gallery when I have the pic else where...especially when the gallery is as slow as it is to upload to.

I would have to go in an edit the pic and make it heaps smaller to be able to get it in the gallery in less than an hour remember roger alot of us have pics that are as big as 10mb and over...thats a big file for a slow section:)

Fair enough - I was unaware of the complications with the gallery etc.

Also, I didn't see the link at the bottom (due to the big blank space in your post) of the voting thread or the fact that you have deleted all the 'extra' comments in that thread.

Thanks Chucaro.........I can only speak for my self but I'm sure the others feel the same,

I personally appreicate yours and others input to this section......like all sections on this forumj it makes it what it is

and since having this section I have learnt so much from everyones sound advice I have been inspired by matbor and his HDR I have brought good gear thanks to dm_td5.

I have learnt panning tips and tricks to take good moving shots from RMP

and have enjoyed looking at evreyones fantastic work

So thank you to you ALL:)
