As some of you may go, I'm in inner city melbourne, anyway, I was out on the balcony this afternoon, and low and behold I see a huge plume of smoke in the distance.
Poor bloody CFA guys, although this one is pretty much suburban.
This is not going to be a good year. This Friday is forcast for 38 degrees.
How much longer can this go on.....?

You would be referring to the Upwey fire.
This started in Birds Land Reserve, which strangely enough is exactly where the 1983 Ash Wednesday fire that devastated Belgrave, Belgrave South and beyond started. ( arsonists)
We lived in Belgrave South and moved out 12 years ago, many reasons but one of them was worrying about the fire threats every summer.
We'd all better get used to it, not only those in the country. Those in the city suburbs will increasingly get affected too. Don't believe it can happen ?? We now live in an outer Eastern Suburb but still have our wildfire survival plan ...the neighbours think we're nuts.
