Hi All,

I have a P38A Range Rover and want to know if there is anyone in Perth with a computer (mobile) who can come and have a look at my vehicle?

I apparently wrote my message the wrong way, sorry guys, I am after an Auto Electrician for a P38A who can diagnose errors.

I can start the vehicle, but then it dies I have no idea and need someone in Perth to come and diagnose the problem.

Does anyone know of a mobile Auto Electrician in Perth who can diagnose errors?

Cheers

you should take it to a landrover specilaist rather than an auto electrician
electronics on a p38 are very complex and can be easily soughted with rovacom or autologic diagnostic computer commonly used by indepdent land rover workshops

I would suggest either crank or cam shaft sensor, simple to replace. Camshaft senor is expensive about $350. Crank sensor about $60.00. I would replace the crank sensor and see if it makes a difference. The vehicle can start and run with a doggy cam sensor but will not run if the crank sensor is faulty. This could be why the car starts but then dies.

Hmm, that post was in Feb 2009. I assume he's had it fixed by now.

Then again, that's a big assumption to make on a Pesky P38 electrical problem

g'day,

im having a problem which makes no sense to me what so ever i cant seem to work out why or whats doing this....

almost every time i turn my car ignition to accessories and open the door the car beeps at me and everything cuts out for a second then restarts back up ...its not my battery because i have a optima yellow top 750cc one.

the only thing that might throw it off that i can think of is..because the battery is a deep cycle one could it be that the fact that the car has a burst of engergy to tell me the ignition key is still in and by doing that its enough to reset the power?

thanks guys.

Mike

Hi Mike check all of your earths, including the earths on the BECM. Also check and clean any dirty fuses.

What clothes are you wearing??? :D:D

No No Seriously, I have what seems to be the exact same problem, but it only happens when i'm wearing polyester tracksuit pants. Something to do with the static when I slide off the leather seats. I hear a click, all interior lights and instruments shut down, and then fire back up. Its as if someone has hit a reset button on a copmuter. You can also here several relays clicking.

I would really like to know whats going on as well.

Ahem, one does not wear trackies in one's Range Rover.

I don't know - these Victorians have no respect for quality.

:lol2: one puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again :p

but seriously it actually happens when wearing trackies everyone should try and see what kind of response they get...

Thanks,

Mike
