Went out to see a kombi camper the other ay and bugger me dead the old fella had a swb s1. Not sure of year as i dont know that much but is there any way of being able to carbon date it?
He wants $200 for it and it has a 138 grey motor in it and has had a couple of small mods done but all brakes work!
Was looking at getting rid of my oher parts 2a but now i might have to keep it for the running gera lol :D

Chassis number is your friend.
Another visual indicator could be things like the headlight arrangement, but these are subject to change at an owners whim so not definitive.
The wheelbase will also give you some clues.

See if you can chuck up a photo for us we should be able to figure it out then. At $200 its gotta be worth it.

You dont want it mate, keep to the Kombis. However Iam more then happy to take it of the farmers hands for $200 lol.
But like Mick-Kelly said a photo would make it easier to see what model it is.

Why not a Kombi? Were/are a cult thing. I thoroughly enjoyed my years of Kombi ownership, pretty much like the Land Rover thing.
What:o.......there's something wrong with a kaftan and sandals?:p

Serious? you have a camper for sale? Post a pic :)
And yea ill go back tommorow, and get a pick. She's got a real good chasis, but the bonet has been lengthened and has a S3 grille in her and has two homemade front guards with Ford Consul headights.

Ok a few small details,
No outside door handles, you have a small trianlge flap and you lean inside and open the door from the inside.
What looks to be a series 3 grille, but its the same as the banner landrover.
So im guessing a 49? Worth restoring? Worth anything?

For $200, worth obtaining no matter what. If you decide you don't want it, someone here will give you back your $200 and another landy is saved!
If it is an 80" and in reasonable shape, it would certainly be worth restoring!
Pics are required! ;)

Just a question does the bulkhead have lights on it up near the wind screen.

Yea two little ones, one is broken but the other ok and it has what appears to be a fj holden panelvan reverse light on the back but i was reading landrover world and one had it.

Sounds like a 80" then. Another question how does the bumper bar bolt on.
1: Does the Bumper bolt onto the chassis or does the Chassis bolt through the bumper?
2: Are you able to get the chassis number?
3: We all love pictures!
