That story is either of an other kid or it has been regurgitated.

There was one that happened about a couple of months ago.

Ahh, here we are: Bizarre rescue as toddler trapped in vending machine | The Daily Telegraph (http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,24776294-5001021,00.html)

Do a search on "boy vending" and you'll see it's happened a number of times. That chute must be damn big.

Why would you want to buy a toddler out of a vending machine?

Give us another incentive payment? :)

Saves all the pain of bearing one (for the woman) :) but takes away the pleasure of making it (for the man)! :(

I beg to differ, the poker machine is the liability, not what it may disgorge;)

I hear the Federal Committee for the promotion of Child and Vending Machine Harmonic Cooperation is in formation - with appropriate consideration of course given to the National Vending Machine Association of Concerned Parents, and the National 3-Year-Old Assembly of Representatives (Toddler subdivision).

Julia Gillard will be Deputy-Chair in order to ensure (as Minister of Social Inclusion) that equal numbers of women and minorities are involved, due to differences in religious attitudes to the mechanisation of candy dispersal, and that the assorted colours of vending machines (with different committees analysing different sizes of machine) are included in the report.

Hearings begin on the 15th July, 2010. An interim report should be due around the 27th May, 2015.

The Howard Government seriously dropped the ball on this one.

Disgraceful.

It is said to have happened at Gympie, enough said. I wonder if they live at Glenwood?

Ahh, but I was referring to the return on investment! $1 in, $4,000 out.

This morning I had a look at one of these vending machines at my local shopping centre. The trap door is quite large.

The rescue cost $20 in dollar coins after many near misses where the boy dropped off the claw just near the shoot :p

Was that because his arms were full with booty?

Ahh, but I was referring to the return on investment! $1 in, $4,000 out.

Let's see:

$4000 - $1 (outlay) = $3999
$3999 / 18yr (hopefully)= $222.17 PA
$222.17 / 52 = $4.27 PW
That's sixty-one cents a day, as long as you can get shot of them at 18 years.
My kids were spoiled ;):p

Are you posting from inside using your phone, or did you get out OK?
