Hi Guys,
over this year I wanna turn my Disco into a tourer and one thing that has bothered me with my Disco is its lack of CDL is this gonna affect my Offroad Abilities a lot? Ive also checked the Transfer case and it isnt one with the switch on the transer case but no cable etc How much roughly would it cost to get a cdl put in or what are my other options?

Thanks
Will.

I love how the cable linkage is dearer than the diff lock unit.

I got the actual CDL from a wrecker complete with genuine LR linkages for about $850, think it cost me another $400 for labour. I went this way because it all looks and works the same as original.
Oh yes, you question regarding the effect on your off road ability....... its chalk and cheese. I can now go so much slower over obstacles with the CDL locked and thus the risk of damage is much reduced. Also, I don't end up ripping tyres to shreds as wheels spin and grip with TC alone.
I actually think the combination of CDL and TC is pretty close to having a rear diff lock........ but not quite:(. I'm putting one of those in soon too:D
