Disco Tdi service cost

Just wondering what sort of money I can expect to pay for a timing belt and major service for a 97 300 tdi?

Am new to diesels and looking to buy one but it needs a 140000km service with belt and just like to plan for the cost a bit.

Hi mate,

A service cost is going to vary from place to place but i doubt you would get change from $400 from any half decent place.

In terms of timing belt, it can add up. Assuming it has already had the timing belt major mod (and given it is 2009 it is probable) the parts alone are about $278 + labour.

If you get out under $1000 for the lot i'd say thats not too bad.

Although, given it is a new vehicle to you i'd probably have the radiator out and rodded at the same time while they are mucking around with the timing belt.

Gday mate just had mine done by PCB landrovers in Adelaide and it cost me 450 for the timing and all relevant parts and labour it was the cheapest and quickest let alone the best service I have had done on it.

A good quality timing belt kit should come with seals and hardware
and is about $450 fitted
major service would be around 400-500

Can you point me in the direction of them?

I have been quoted around $1000 for a major service (80,000km) on my TD5 by the stealer.:o:(:mad:

I would do it myself, but it is under warranty.
