Looks like they have post processed the pic in a similar mannor to this..
Faking Tilt-Shift - a Tutorial for Realistic Miniaturised Photos : Martin Pot - Photography Blog (http://martybugs.net/blog/blog.cgi/photoshop/tutorials/TiltShiftTutorial.html)
Obviously not has detailed as this but a similar method that has been turned into an action (photoshop macro) which can then be batch processed to each pic. Very cool though!
Funny how these rescue exercises take place when conditions are bright sunshine, water almost like glass, when the actual weather is usually far from it. :)

I was wondering why someone who looked set up to fish the rocks solo (bright clothing, working the corner gutter etc etc) got hit by a greeny and stood but then if you slow the vid down effectively stepped into the water - was then on such a calm day not able to self rescue. I could see at least two "safe" exits for getting out of the drink.
Fishing the rocks is a dangerous pastime, but you can do it safely and responsibly if you have your wits. Solo always increases the risks but a nice calm day like that could still be safe.
Great video and ad for the rescue boys though... I love the way the ocean moves, you can see some parts of the video are say 10-15 with about 1.5-2m of swell and other sections closer to 20s with 2+ m of swell...
The fishing is way better in Cairns but i miss the stones in Sydney.
