Hi guys, is there much involved with putting a 4bd1t into a V8 county?
What kind of fuel economy do the Isuzu's get?
The one i'm looking at has a 4.8 V8 put in by John Davis which is apparently pretty good but i can't see it being that good on the fuel, it does however also have F/R maxi drives, Maxi axles and long range tanks.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I went from a 4.2 Litre V8 to a 4BD1T >>>>>>>>>> http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-landy-enthusiasts-section/55113-county-v8-4bd1turbo-conversion.html
As much as I loved my V8, I love the Isuzu Turbo more.
The V8 was about 19 L/100km, the Isuzu 10-14 Litres/100km depending on fueling etc.

a fair bit of work is required and it has been covered before try the search function.
I would suggest that you might consider a lpg conversion. buying a suzi and then paying to install it will buy you an awful lot of LPG.

I could sell you a suzu, only 230,000k on the clock:)

Wortho,
If that 4.8 is anything like the one JD built for my RRC, then it'll use fuel but what an engine:twisted: After I fitted my 4BD1T into my RR(For the same reason you are doing it to the county...:() I was staggered at the increased fuel range and economy etc, but really, really miss that V8....:(:(:(:(
The engine now resides in a Rover SD1 hatchback with Haltech and a LT77 behind it:twisted::eek:
Do the Isuzu 4bd1 Turbo diesel conversion, you should get a good price for the V8 even though it is a fuel consumer as they are a pretty good quality stroker.

There's a truck 4BD1 on ebay atm (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ISUZU-4BD1-4-CYL-MOTOR-SECOND-HAND_W0QQitemZ380108511810QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Tr uck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item380108511810&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318) - questionable condition, but its already been converted to 12 V and its going cheap. Good candidate for a rebuild?
