I'm going to vote for the next topic, which the winner may or may not listen to (or I may even win!).
Photoshop. Show us your best editing skills. Can we abstract, retouched, blended or a dogs head on a budgie. Lets see some skills and creativity.

That would tend to restrict things a bit, most who post here would have a camera - not all would have photoshop, and those that do may not be into editing of that type.
By all means show everyone your (and any one elses) photshop skills but I think it is the wrong topic for a camera comp.

I disgree with that, we've had contests that had to be taken in your back yard yet not everybody has one. There have been a number of contests which are for photos I'm not interested in taking, so I just don't enter.
Also, I don't have particularly good skills and I was expecting to lose any PS (or other editing software) comp. But I do like it as an artform and was hoping to see something inspirational, just like the other comps.
But if is is exclusionary to the point that there will only be a couple of entries, then that is also not right.

thats a shame its not really about the interest but the taking part.....the idea is you take a topic that is given and you get creative about it, even if you dont like it......alot of the comps have not said no post process which means you can do it....
Failing that if photoshopping is what floats your boat, then start a thread like matbor did with his HDR and share your work with people

to be honest Photoshop is used by people who are shockers at taking pic's. amazing how much you can hide using photoshop.
nothing beats natural talent and flair

Thats funny:D even top photograhers spend time post processing there work until they get what they want......
the talent and flair is about having a good base to start with;)
even ansal adams one of the greatest photographers in his field post processed his images in the dark room....
So bit of an assumption to think anyone using photoshop does so because they are crap:)

This is a complete misunderstanding of what Photoshop and other PP software are about.
Photoshop is a "digital dark room" used for the same purpose that the old dark room was used for years including the masters of photography.
Yes, can be used for other purposes like digital creations, restoration, etc but is not used by "shockers" because to have a good outcome a understanding in photography is a must.
This image is a digital creation which won an award in a reputable international photographic forum and I am proud of it.
The surface of a trunk of a tree was used as a canvas.
