hi all

i am currently looking to get new tires for my series 2 disco it has 255/55/r18 so im expecting to pay $250+ each corner. its only a daily driver but im tossing up if i should get some land rover 16 rims the ones you see on the td5 i like as tyres may be cheaper. could any one point me in the right direction to find them or advice on what i should do. was thinking of asking some wreckers to keep an eye out or if someone has some tyres they want to sell or both.

everywhere i go they say its an odd size

any help would be great

thanks

Go to some tyre places, they usually have low mileage tyres off stock vehicles sometimes with rims, I got a set of Cooper Discoverers A/T's with less than a 1000klms for $300 for 5 tyres, someone had traded them in on a larger set of muddies, Regards Frank.

Second rims might be the go however if you go for the factory alloys they seem to sell for 180 - 200 a rim, steels can be had for 120 per rim.

This does add up with a set of tyres, however if you plan to keep the car for a few sets of tyres or want play tyres and road tyres this is the way to go.

Buy a good trolley jack as well and tyre changing becomes a breeze

Triumph and Rover spares in SA are selling a set of 16" rims with brand new wrangler MTR's on them for $1400. That is a sweet deal!

Thats an old add, they no longer have those, I enquired about them a while ago and they said they are no longer available. Was a sweet deal though, can only hope another one pops up sometime.
