View Full Version : Clutch grabbing, and headlining

Hi. Any advice with following:

Clutch grabs. Very noticable in low gears. Have tried 'burning' a little by slipping in high gears (a few seconds only). Any ideas why, and what to do, short of the horrible procedure to get it out?

90,000 km on 1998 300Tdi, all done by me, and I'm very light on clutches. No towing, lots of off-road, but slow and gentle stuff.
Have used the car very little in the last 2 years - maybe only 3-5000km.

Also, headlining plastic dropping, assume that board behind is OK, but have always had some roof leaks almost whole life of car, despite excellent attempts during warranty from Garthon.

Anyone managed top get to to go back up with pinning? Otherwise, would love to get a cheap but good fix that will last. Is a breathable fabric better than a plastic one, bearing in mind humidity/possible leakS?

Any help welcome!

James.

pedal play fine. I was wondering if possibly oil could leak onto plates, but there is no suspicious smell. Any other ideas?
