A&T used to mark their vehicles this way. Haven't seen a diesel stencil before though.

A & T? Mine was a SA Reg assumed from Champions in Adelaide.

Maybe it was a Pressed Metal thing.

G'day 4Bee :)

Those guards look like they have the UK build lamp configeration, in that the Parker and Blinker are set horizontaly, where as the Aust production vehicles were verticle.

cheers

I have never seen the diesel before either. And the lamp configuration does not mean a lot - a lot of 2/2a Landrovers were fitter with blinkers by the dealers or owners - blinkers were not required until around 1962 or even later. In that case there is no guarantee they would be fitted in the standard layout, so although this does suggest that it is an imported vehicle, it does not necessarily follow. Although having said that, I have an imported 2a, which does have the blinkers arranged horizontally, with blinkers outside the parking lights.

I would normally agree on the indicator lamp being fitted in either position at a later stage, but these guards have a semi raised pressing facilitating a flat spot to mount the lamp. This would suggest that they were factory lamps.

Getting back to the original post, does anybody know where, if at all, I could get this style of logo as a transfer? The diesel one would be best for me.

I was thinking the same thing Aaron. Perhaps if lro11 could take a close up shot (nice and square ;)) then some photoshop work, we could get one created as a vinyl sticker??

I was not planning on going to that side of town any time soon, but I think they will not last long. I think that these guards were early series 2 perhaps on a show vehicle to promote the new diesel engine. It is a shame that somone had cut that guard to fit a booster, worth the asking price if it was wasn't butchered.

This the sort of thing you are after?

You can correct the angle in The Gimp.
