Have the ipod tapped to the steering wheel ;)...

But seriously i think the volume would still work not too sure about song selection.

Get a radio broadcasting unit to plug into your ipod or a unit with an ipod jack. Dont think you would be able to use the steering wheel controls though...

I kept the LR radio and fitted one of these:

PIE Precision Interface Electronics Online Store - DPX+ DIGITAL PROTOCOL CONVERTER (http://www.pie.net/pie_store/shopexd.asp?id=503&bc=no)

Works fine, though if you want to upgrade your head unit anyway then there are probably better ways. I'm sure there are some threads on here that mention some iso adapters to allow you to use the steering wheel controls with more common head units.

cheers, Andy

I went for the Eclipse 3200 head unit, great ipod control, blue tooth hands free and the best bit is that is the same colour as the Disco 2 console and has green backlighting.

I have a remote control with my Sony CD/AM/FM/AUX Bluetooth deck.
Plug the Ipod in the Aux jack.
Don't even need to have my hands on the steering wheel.:)
It does the lot, only catch, it echos a little (handsfree) for the other person calling you on the phone. Still beats a fine and 3 demerit points.

I've got a pioneer unit with an aux jack in the back. I plug my Samsung S3 MP3 player into that and do song selection on the player and volume control on the stereo. Works great, but it's very distracting watching my photos and videos on the little screen whilst driving:D Normally I put an MP3 CD that holds 175 songs and select random play.
