As you know I'll be up there already. We are camping with my wife's workmates so I should be able to disappear for a little while

Not sure if we are heading up Friday afternoon or Saturday morning yet. Either way I should see you all at some point on Saturday.

Just shut the shop Dave, you are the boss after all :D

Is there a BBQ with within a public BBQ area up there that we can use or is someone bringing one? Will we just need to bring some food?

Sounds good count our red FL2 in. Does anyone know if the rain we have had will affect the river crossings?

Sorry, we're out:(.

Utemad

I'm sure the rain will affect the crossings. No idea how much though. It makes it more fun when they are high and they all have river rock bottoms so traction is good unless you drop into a hole.

We are heading up Saturday morning at this stage so let me know what UHF channel you will be using and I'll meet you at your bbq point. Hopefully it will be dry by then :)

Since there aren't many people on the trip you might be able to come back to our camper and use our cooker. Not sure what the setup etc at the place we are going to be will be like yet.

Just for everyone's info - Kat and I drove up the CG track last Sunday - it was a total bog - lots of mud. We had the Mickey T's on so we had no dramas, but with all the rain of late it can only be worse this weekend.

There is also a sign which says "dry weather road only - closed in wet" or similar. Might pay to check if it's even open.

But have fun - sorry I can't make it. :)

Ace

we dont mind a but of mud, but if the road is closed thats a different story.

I will try and check the forum again in the morning from Cam's place but can someone ring me just incase if there are any changes. Thanks guys, im off to the airport in about 20mins, see who ever can make it tomorrow. Matt

Maybe so Mrs H but I was mopping up water from the room under our house at 3am this morning. We had a lot of rain come down in the evening and then after midnight it really turned on the tap and it just didn't stop for more than an hour. I think we have to get some serious drainage done since it seems to be underground water building up against the block wall and then seeping through as I have stopped all the surface water as far as I know. Though seeping is not necessarily the right word for the speed it sometimes comes in.

So when I said wet I meant here at home :p. Though you know I hate to get the Disco dirty :D.

Hi all.

Was good to meet you guys even if it was only for 10 mins or so.
Apparently there was a motorbike gathering at Killarney which explains all the bikes you saw.
Also the drizzle never let up. Packed up wet and have the camper open and airing in the driveway at the moment.

As for not wanting to get the Disco3 dirty. There were 3 or so guys in our group that did part of the river crossing track on mountain bikes!
They came back soaked and covered in mud spray but had a ball.

See you at the next one.

Hmm.... I think I have to defend the D3's honour here. Justin, that was a very tongue in cheek comment :). MrsH has seen the D3 dirty and knows that I would not pull out for that. It was playing in the mud up at Beerburrum when it had less than 5k on the clock.

Though I must admit the thought of having to clean it up before getting it ready to go away for Easter wasn't a great thought.

Glad you all had a good time without us (sniff). But then like DJH said, no pics and it didn't happen.

Tim.

I knew you were joking. It's alright :)

I was still surprised when the guys all came back muddy. I thought they were going to do the bitumen thing. All dressed in their Tour De France looking gear. These guys are all 50ish. Came back like excited little kiddies :D

there is just something about mud that gets us all feeling like kids again. You are never to old to play in the mud
