Well, tomorrow Bethy My 15yo daughter looses her hair for 'shave for a cure'. This was organised at a later date by her school due to other commitments etc. I was posting this up here in an attempt to boost sponsor amounts, as she is away on a school camp at present and we find she hasn't done enough canvassing yet.
She stands to loose 75cm of blond tresses she has been cultivating since birth, with only trimming etc until tomorrow, when it comes off to a number 4 or 5 or something like that. we as parents have warned her that it'll never grow back the same, but hey, teenagers know best, and it is for a good cause.

SO...

Dig deep please AULRO community, you can pledge by PM or reply to this post if you like:)

JC and Beth.

SWMBO lost all her hair a few years back for a not so pleasant reason.
I always admire those who do it voluntarily. It is brave - especially for the girls. 3 Cheers for Bethy.

I'm in - PM sent

Well, the hair is gone, and the pics will be up as soon as Matt can post them.

We would like to thank enormously all who have contributed to this very worthwhile cause, at least Beth had a choice about losing some hair, those suffering from Leukaemia have none, and coupled with the sickness and stress of Chemotherapy their lot is not a happy one.

Once more, thanks everyone for taking the time to think about the effects of this disease, and doing something about working towards a cure for it:)

Bank details for depositing pledged funds will be PM'ed tomorrow to participants, and anyone else who would like to add $$ can PM me.

:eek2: I hope they didn't leave it at the hack job stage........

Hi NM,

Not quite, a bit more trimming made it a little less 'hacked' looking. She was actually dissappointed it didn't ALL come off, we had to insist that there was at least something left. I admire her enthusiasm/ commitment:o

:)

What an incredible effort!..

Am I too late to pitch in JC ? ( I only just noticed this thread )

I went the full uncle fester ( including mustache) a few years ago for the same thing... supporting a colleague's kid with cancer..

Unfortunately mine did grow back just the same .. no improvement at all.:p

Must easier thing for a forty something bloke to do than a 15 y.o. girl though!

She should be very proud of herself..... very few would have the guts..

Well done..

Mark
