its nearly time for round 2 of TGA. But rumour has it Charlie (the Jeremy Clarkson smarmy wannabe) has been given the flick, not sure if this is true.

I heard it ages ago, so knew it was old, but just never found out who was replacing him. Thanks Phil.

James should make an interesting replacement, he really is a revhead!
Just as long as they don't make him play his trumpet, it's a car show after all!

Yeah, he isnt a bad character either. He should be good, as long as he doesnt try to be like Jeremy like Charlie did, i could never stand him, the show will be better off without him.

i think Cooper hit the nail on the head, they were all 'trying' to be a character, ie clarkson, hamster and May. it was painfully obvious they were having to act and it killed the show.
can't see it getting any better.
Nick.

Uou are naive - of course he will be playing his trumpet - there will be as much trumpets as there will be cars.

Yep, SBS had a competition running where people could audition for the roles, but avergage blokes like us were never going to get the job. Those spots were filled and the people were matched as closely as they could to Clarkson, May and Hammond. What made it worse was that it was so obvious.
Had they have taken 3 individuals and given them creative freedom to mould the role to themselves the show might be more enjoyable.

We went to TG Live in Sydney... Great show but still the tickets were over priced.
As for TGA I hope series 2 the guys do there own thing and stop the mimicking. Morrison can only be a good thing...

I have decided to give them a go again.
First few were a PITA but I warmed to them.
They have mega shoes to fill and if we didn't have the original show to compare them to, we would be none the wiser and probably absolutely love it.

Put it all into perspective. Go onto Youtube and watch the Russian version of topgear.

I'd rather watch repeats of TGUK.

i think the main problem was that people expected "top gear UK" from TGA and they expected Brown, Cox and the Pizza boy to be clarkson, hamster and capt slow. they were never going to be and it was unrealistic to expect them to be.
sure the writing was trying to be as ocker as the british show is "british"
i thought the first one was shaky, but the show did improve greatly as the series went on.
i will be going to the taping of ep 2 at the end of next week, and i will enjoy it.
good luck to them and i hope the show continues to evolve and improve.

I dont mind the show, i just didnt like charlie. Its got nothing on TGUK, but it was never going to be as good, to have thought it would be would have been silly.

i remember the car, there were a couple landies, i did wave. :D
I was on my way back from a property near kandos, i went out and camped the night for a mates bucks weekend. Did some bike riding and some 4wding in the state forrests out there. Tracks arent much chop, pretty easy fire trail stuff but i did manage to get stuck in a creek trying to navigate some rocks.
