The tank would be a lot bigger than any other tank used for diesel/lpg set ups I'd imagine. I'd be inclined to flog all the LPG stuff, drive the cost of the conversion down.

Yeah i like that idea i am trying to keep costs as low as possible, as i already have the 300tdi motor from my disco to go in i will not need to buy a motor so i will only be looking at a mounting kit and i am guessing it would need to be engineered?

Keep the tank (if it is mounted under the car). A new tank costs a lot more than you'd get for the old LPG system. With a big LPG tank you won't have to worry about paying top dollar for LPG when out of the city.

In my experience you can run a diesel on a car gas converter, you just need a very small restrictor jet, around 3mm bore, to deliver the gas to the engine. Leave the whole underfloor gas system on and fit a pair of sill tanks to carry enough diesel. I did a turbo Rodeo with a Impco "J" converter, the owner is rapt with the performance. About 30% extra power. I also did a naturally aspirated Nissan 4.0 and a Toyota 4.2, I added 2 microswitches to the loud pedal to enable gas delivery between 10% and 60% throttle approx. My next diesel I might use a european converter, it has a vapour solenoid built in for quick no-throttle shutdown, you just need to turn the idle screws right down.
