Hard starting when hot with Webber carb

I have a lot of trouble once the hot engine has been turned off (say 10 to 15 mins) trying to get the engine to start again, it's not vapour lock in the fuel lines or spark.
It takes 3 or 4 hours to cool sufficiently to restart

On my installation there is no heat isolating phenolic/ plastic gasket just the standard thin paper gasket between carb and inlet manifold.
I suspect that the rising heat from the engine at turn off is affecting the carb operation and stopping it from starting. Does any one else have similar problems?
and if you have a Webber 4 barrel on yours does it have a heat isolating gasket?
or are there any other suggestions to help me solve it such as a lower temp thermostat? or whatever.

my powers of deduction dont activate till i take a proton energy pill...so could you tell me what engine/ what car we are talking about;)

to me it sounds like fuel vaporising in the fuel bowl or transfer tubes.

ide try isolating the carb and manifold via a spacer and wrapping the inlet line in alloy heat tape as a starting point.

Rover 3500 V8 with Weber 500 Edelbrock inlet conversion.:)

I've got an Edelbrock 500 on my 4.6 Rover car. I bought an Edelbrock insulating gasket which is much thicker and effectively solves the problem of hot starting. I got it sent over from Summit in the US

keeping the heat away from as many things as possible it the best place to start. i had simmilar issues with 500 holleys and holdens. once i had insulated the fuel lines and made an alloy heat sink i never had problems again.

I installed an Edlebrock heat isolating kit for the dual plane/Weber 4 barrel carb Edelbrock part number 9266 and the problem seems resolved time will tell the ambiant temp is not on my side as NZ slides toward winter but I am sure it was having the same start probs last winter.
