Camping at Lucky bay just the other weekend, weather was a bit ordinary, but we were around the other end of the beach, trying to escape the hoardes of Wicked van drivers(Hans, Helga, Sven etc).
Oh look...there's a bus on the beach....hmmm..yeah its pretty hard round there.

Diving back along the beach, "hmmm, looks like there is no one in it"

Upon closer inspection, "ha ha , he's bogged"

Drove back in to the carpark and we were flagged down by a worried bus driver.

"Can you pull me out", says the Toyota driver to the Landrover driver:Rolling:
I had to think about it ...for about a nano second

After some digging and doubling up the strap(he was a bit close to the water) he popped out with a decent pull.

I think he was a bit overcome by my eagerness to take pics

Yeah, the beach is very hard....in places.

He was driving around to pick up some of the tourists that were taking a bit long to walk back from the next beach.

He got so far and started to run out of room, and had no choice but try and turn around.

Turning UP the beach like he did was his second mistake...driving onto the beach was his first!

Yeah, the beach is very hard....in places.

Can be pretty soft in spots too. I remember pulling a Pootrol (belonged to a mate of mine) out of trouble along that same beach a couple of years ago.

Didn't get any pics though - but as a consolation, we did catch a few decent salmon along there on the same day.

WOOHOO! It counts!:banana::banana:...not everday you get to snatch a Toyota Coaster.

Not sure if letting the tyres down would have helped....or if he knew that it might have helped! As he has turned up the beach you can see his front tyres were just pushing sideways. My mate jumped in the drivers seat when we had the first crack at moving it, he gave it heaps and so did I.....nothing happened. "clutch slipping? " I asked. He knodded!
With a bit of digging and rocking he probably could have gotten out himself.
Funnily enough he wasnt to keen to ask the ranger for help!

Beautiful weekend here in sunny Esperance....spent Sunday at Lucky Bay again.
Whilst swimming in the corner of the bay someone said "oooo look ...a bus on the beach"

"Hmmm" I said to myself ...."he better turn around before it gets too soft".
"Oh look he's stopped..and he's on a funny angle:D:D:D"

Having pulled one knobhead bus driver off the beach already I wasn't rushing to help.:twisted:

But sure enough...someone did stop......in a Defender!!!!!...Land Rover to the rescue again!!!!!! ( I think the bus was a Toyota again too).

Some people never learn...either that or they can't read the sign that says 4WD ONLY:mad:

With dual wheels on the rear, he could have done what the Birdsville mailman used to regularly do as a traction aid to get up sand ridges - jamb a couple of long poles (or tree branches) between the dual wheels and drive along/up the pole.

Speaking of Rovers recovering Toyotas.
The cruiser tried to get through a bog hole, got stuck. Then the hilux went in to recover the cruiser, got stuck. Then rover comes to the rescue.
