Hey guys, my gal and I just bought a 2001 Disco Td5 (which is odd cause disco's back in fashion...but anyhow..)with about 80,000K's on the clock and I'm looking for a few things for it to help us to get ready for off mild to moderate off road use (I've not got near the expendable income to go all out). We've already proudly installed the back row of dickie seats and rear hydraulic step ourselves...
So anyhow, we're in the process of getting a roof rack & hopefully a set of good rubber coated side steps relatively soon or rock sliders (if i can find them second hand somewhere).
BUT I think it'd be of great help since I know pretty much crap all about GPS systems and as well now that I think about it also about good UHF radio sets.

So, any good suggestions? I hear having a bread crumb setting on the gps can be very helpful (as per the guy at ARB the other day said). Any other usefull accessory help ( yeah I'm also working on getting a shovel and as well jerry cans and a bull bar)
Cheers.

Hi DNH don't know what mapping you can get in Oz but I think the Garmin c60sx is a good unit. I have the c60 (no colour) and I like it because it can be used outside the car eg hiking if necessary and yet has good mapping to find locations and so on; good tracking if you are doing off road stuff or unmapped roads. You can also use those tracks to make your own little maps so the unmapped roads are visible next time you go. Not as useful in and around towns - the other Garmin models much better for slotting in an address or postcode but I think for unmapped areas and the ability to save tracks the c60 or c60 sx is great.
